Another Bargain Book Haul

So, I went to get some food shopping this morning and of course couldn’t pass a bookshop without going in. I found some bargains and I also bought a few more Kindle books yesterday in Amazons Summer Sale.

Broken Monsters by Lauren Beukes

This paperback was only a £1. I have heard of Lauren Beukes before, as I know she wrote the Shining Girls. It looks like it’s going to be quite strange and creepy, and hopefully it will keep me up at night.

Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine

This was also only £1. I’ve heard of the author, but I haven’t read any of her books before. It’s set in a world where it’s a crime to own books and knowledge means power. Being such a huge book lover I couldn’t pass it up, as it sounds such an interesting story.

Good People by Marcus Sakey

goodpeople

I’ve not heard of this author before, but as it was only £1 I thought I’d give it a go, as the story sounded interesting. It’s about a couple trying unsuccessfully for a baby, who when they hear of their neighbours passing, decide to break in and steal the $400, 000 cash left behind in the flat to pay for fertility treatment. The problems start when someone else comes looking for the money.

Gillian Flynn Collection

I’ve never read Gone Girl, so when I saw this collection for £8 I decided to snap it up. Along with Gone Girl it also contains Sharp Objects, and Dark Places, which was also made into a movie.

The next few books where Kindle editions.

Passenger by Alexandra Bracken

I’ve been wanting to read this one for a while, so when I saw it reduced to 99p I had to have it. It’s had some great reviews and I’m looking forward to reading it.

November 9 by Colleen Hoover

november9

I’ve never read a Colleen Hoover book before, but this one looked interesting and for 99p I thought I’d try it out. It’s not my usual type of book, but I like to mix things up from time to time and read something a little different.

Ruby by Cynthia Bond

This one has had some really good reviews, so I thought I’d give it a try. It was only £1.49, so I thought it was worth it. Oprah likes it and I’m not going to argue with her.

The Charlie Parker Collections by John Connolly

I like a good mystery/thriller and I’ve heard good things about these books, so for £1.49 for each collection of 4 books I thought they were a bargain. I’m not sure when I’ll get around to reading them and will probably have to review them separately, as I don’t think I’ll manage them one after the other.

I feel I’ve bought far too many books this last week or so, but then I think to myself that would be impossible. You can never have too many books. The shelves in my house are starting to beg to differ though. I’m looking forward to them all, but it’s going to take me quite a while to get through them.

  1. Awesome book haul! I wish I had cheap bookstores nearby..

I absolutely love Gone Girl. Let me know what you think once you read it. I also have Dark Places on my TBR pile that I hope to read very soon.
